Six of Crows by Leigh Bardugo

SixofCrowsFirst off, I can’t wait to read the next book. Secondly, I really want to read the Grisha trilogy now. This is the first book in a duology by Leigh Bardugo. The story takes place in the Grisha universe and it centers around these six teenagers trying to pull off an impossible heist. So if you liked Suicide Squad, Oceans Eleven, and The Italian Job you will absolutely love Six of Crows.

The magic system in the Grisha universe is so diverse and interesting to read. That is the main reason I want to read the Grisha trilogy. I would consider this a High-Fantasy novel so there is some world building and a magic system.

Kaz Brekker is the leader of this group. He is a well-known thief and leader of The Crow Crew. Kaz is a thief with a gift for unlikely escapes. Inej is a spy known as the Wraith. Nina is a Heartrender using her magic to survive the slums. Matthias is a convict with a thirst for revenge. Jesper is a sharpshooter who can’t walk away from a wager. Wylan is a runaway with a privileged past.

This a great book to read if you want escape the world around you. Yes, some of the names and words are hard to pronounce, but the writing and story are worth the read. If you do want to start reading some High-Fantasy i would recommend starting with this duology. I have been recommended to listen to the audiobook so when I have the time and Audible credits I will.

  1. I read this one a little while ago but still haven’t gotten around to reading the sequel, even though I’m really looking forward to it! As you, I haven’t read the Grisha trilogy either but I’m sure I will. SoC just made me want to explore that whole world more!
